i3 vs i5 for gaming

I will suggest for i3 5th generation because u have to play games.

Reason = i5 1st generation is more powerfull than i3 5th generation but i5 1st generation has direct x 10 which is unable to support many games but i3 5th generation has direct x 11 or 12 which is able to support almost all games

I assume you are elaborating your point.

Depends on which i5, and which i3. A modern i3 can easily sweep a old i7 in gaming due to better IPC and clock rates. (i3 8350K vs i7 760)

DirectX version is also based on software, not hardware generations.

For gaming, you can get a Ryzen 1400 or better, or a i3 8300 and up.
