i7 4510U or i7 4700MQ

As many others, I'm confused between HP ENVY 15-K005TX and HP ENVY 15-J111TX

K005TX
- i7 4510U (DUAL CORE)
- 8 GB DDR3
- GeForce GTX 850M : 4GB

J111TX
- i7 4700MQ
- 8 GB DDR3
- GeForce GT 740M : 2GB

i7 4700MQ is not only clocked higher but it also boast 4 cores than i7 4510U.

can K005TX combination of 4510U with GTX 850M 4 GB tops J111TX combination?

What the difference ? As you can see, the processors are different--- the Dual core i7 4510U is really a power efficient processor designed to consume very low amount of power (it also reflects in it's performance as this processor is not very good at tasks which demands a lot of cpu power. Most games however, don't require a very strong processor as they are mostly graphic intensive and with the K005TX having the GeForce GTX 850M : 4GB graphics card which is far better for gaming than the GT 740M : 2GB that the J111TX. The i7 4700MQ is however more suitable for processor intensive tasks than the i7 4510U . So if you are a gamer, go for the K005TX, if you are a video editor or rendering; even though I dont like the GeForce GT 740M : 2G Graphics for that, that PC would be better as Video editing has massive processor usage and the i7 4510U will be weak for that.

everyone needs gaming every now and then but i'll choose processing power(portable) over gaming.

I have a 4510U with a GTX 850M card, and I love it. The processor is really speedy and handles any CPU intensive task very well. The GTX is awesome for gaming, and is able to max out any game.

Yes, the 4700MQ is obviously faster, but it is not a light and day difference, it's relatively minor, honestly. Also, keep in mind that the 4700 uses a lot more power, so you won't have a lot of mobility with it.

Definitely go with the 4510 and 850M.
