Identify unidentified running processes in windows

I want to know running processes that are not windows-related in order to stop or remove them if necessary...... (virus like )

Non windows-related apps may run and show up in your task manager. So when you close them you may end up closing an application running on the background. And viruses are not that stupid to show up in the task manager, just like that, in normal cases.

Also there is a small software called ProcessExplorer. You can check that out.

Why don't you just run a virus and spyware scan to check for those?

This falls under the category of "don't mess with stuff you don't know about if it's not doing any damage".
