If I connect my jbl pulse 2 to my laptop will it charge

If my pulse 2 is connected to my laptop will it charge as the dock doesn't seem to work

How do I know my laptop is charging my pulse 2 as there is no indication also if it's charging I heard the dots in the light setting comes but nothing here yet is it normal?
