I'm looking for a good, but cheap laptop!

I'm looking for a laptop that costs between 300-500$$. I'm not that good at identifying good specs, which is why I need help. I want to play the Sims 3 w/ all of the expansion packs and use it for my school work if we ever do essays.
Would this laptop be a good one for that? If not, what would? I'd like it to at least have 6+ GB, though.

here is a much better choice and it should be able to do way more than just school work .. it could do a little casual gaming as well
