increasing speaker's sound

what happens if i increase/change my 6volts transformer in my speaker for a 12volts transformer? Will it destroy the board of the speaker?

it will destroy the circuits on the speakers more than likely since the voltage transformation is done externally, it would be a different story if it was the same voltage but could supply a higher current.
