Question INNO-HIT TV goes back to standby immediately when trying to turn it on

I have an INNO-HIT branded LCD TV (the tag on the back says model IH32875T and it's about 10 or 11 years old) that has a goofy defect. When I turn it on, the power indicator goes from blue to red (standby to on) and then goes almost immediately back to blue. HOWEVER... if I keep insisting (I have to wait about 8 seconds between every try), the indicator stays red for a progressively longer interval until it finally stays on long enough for the TV to actually switch on (I'd say on about the 50th attempt - no exageration). Also, once it "warms up" and actually turns on, if I turn it off, it will turn back on without any problems. Is there some component that needs to get up to a certain operating temperature in order to stay on?

UPDATE: now the blue (standby) light is flashing steadily and I'm no longer able to even try to turn it on. :-(
