I've come across these little LTE modems that are relatively cheap, they plug in via M.2 ports and claim to connect to LTE services. I have Googled, but have been unable to find the following three answers to my question:-

1. Do these things require an external antenna? Or are simply plug-in-and-go?
2. Where do you insert the SIM card? Looking over the images I can't see where the SIM card goes.
3. How well do these things actually work embedded deep in a laptop? Sounds like an awful place to be receiving and transmitting signals (I assume WiFi/Bluetooth would be placed somewhere near the edge of the laptop?)

Thanks!

I don't own an LTE modem as of current, however I would much prefer an internal one than a USB external one. I did provide this list of modems in the OP:-

https://techship.se/products/category/lte-modules/

Which all seem to be generally the same idea, plugs into the M.2 port. I'm just confused about the three things I had in the OP, antenna/sim card location/performance.
