Instead of going to sleep my laptop shuts down

If I tell it to go to sleep it will take about the normal time it should to go to sleep but even if I wake it immediately it just shows the boots screen and is like it is turning on from being off, it doesn't hibernate because all the programs and stuff are closed.

I haven't changed any settings on my laptop in over a week and this just started happening all of a sudden.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may help in resolving the issue.
- Right click on the battery icon and select Power Options.
- On the left pane click on "Choose what the power buttons do"
- When I press the sleep button make sure it's set to Sleep.
- Click Save Changes then try putting it to sleep.

Yes I have checked this and it is definitely set to go to sleep, but it still shuts down.
