SquareTrade calls the iPhone a "very well constructed device" and that the defect rate is still well below other consumer electronics, including BlackBerrys.

So why is the focus here on the iPhone? It's still better than the competition.

Don't get me wrong, I can't stand this overrated company as much as the next guy but this is a bit of a non-story really.

The story here is that if you are a ten-thumbed, sausage-fingered, boxing-gloves-for-hands imbecile, then the iPhone 4 is NOT the phone for you
...
Just regular handed imbeciles please

I had my xbox break on me for the fourth time and decided to go to PC. Never looked back, I wonder if anyone feels the same over the Iphone?

I see what you did there.

[citation][nom]260511[/nom]iphone owners are not as smart as you.[/citation]

???
iPhone breaks, so go for PC instead?
Not sure it would fit in my pocket

I'm starting to think this was Apple's plan all along. Make it more "pwetti" and at the same time, easily damaged so they can justify $180+ for repair.

Well, doesn't this story actually prove that the iPhone 4's glass is better?? The i4 has 100% more glass than the i3GS and only 80% more breakage?!!?

The article plainly states that the iPhone is well below any other device in this aspect. Just the i4 vs i3GS appears to break more frequently. So your statement is completely false. It is not in fact "easily" damaged.
