Is a AMD9720 comparable to a i5 dual core ?

I was looking for a laptop comparable to the I5 dual processor and was told that an AMD quad core 97 hundreds would do the same job is this true?

Yes that CPU is pretty even to the mobile i5 CPUs. BTW the model is AMD A12-9720P
