The mobile Core i3 is similar to the mobile Core i5. The only difference is Turbo Boost (TB). TB is an automatic overclock feature. A Core i3 is good enough to play games as long as it is fast enough. I think 2.4GHz is fast enough.

The GT 820m is a very weak graphics card. It is estimated to be only as powerful as the GT 720m. However, it is certainly more powerful than the Intel HD 4000 graphics core in 3rd generation Core Intel CPUs.
