Is Factory Reset safe ?

Hello everyone

is the Factory Reset safe in Android Smartphones ? I am talking about the Smartphones that have a version of 7.0 or newer ? Does the Factory Reset delete everything and with everything I mean the files of the security key that was used to encrypt the phone ?

Factory Reset means exactly what it says. Encryption software might be the exception because that would enable thieves to be able to sell a clean device so it's likely it would be protected from deletion.

I have used a factory reset on a Nougat device and all the files I'd created disappeared but they had not been encrypted. That said, it wouldn't allow any login details for Google other than my original e-mail address so they must be tying devices and accounts together for the future security of easily lost and stolen phones and tablets.

So if I make a factory reset it is safe because the data would be completely deleted and I could sell the phone without fearing that the person can recover my deleted data from the factory reset, right ? Encryption is a good idea and it should be done when you buy an Android device, not when you're about to sell it.

It isn't good practice to put any seriously private data on a device that leaves home every time you do.
