I've got an Acer laptop that I use mostly for light gaming. Is it harmful or counterintuitive to leave it plugged in while gaming or in general?

Solution
Keeping the battery charged is a killer. Instead, disconnect the power cable at 100% and put it back in at 30-40%. This way, your battery life will improve.
Leaving it plugged in will cause the battery to constantly be charging, reducing the life of the battery. That said, batteries don't last forever anyway and you'd most likely have to keep it plugged in to game for very long even when new.

Generally speaking, laptops are not good for gaming or 24/7 use. But people do it all the time.
