Is it hard to change brands?

I'm thinking of getting a moto G5, but I've only had Samsung phones before. I'm not a techie, so how hard is it to learn to use a new brand?

brand should make much different is the version of the android

Yeah it's more apps between manufacturers than anything else if on the same version of Android. I had two Motorolas prior to switching to a Samsung Note 5. For me, learning new Samsung apps was a bigger challenge than navigating through different Android OS versions.
