I have a Lenovoe ThinkPad E530 with the default Intel graphics card AND an NVidia GT 650M. Will it be possible to replace the NVidia card with an upgrade?

That's not entirely accurate, you are forgetting about the MXM standards but usually only very high-end laptops use them.

On the OPs laptops the gpu is soldered to the board so there's no hope of an MXM slot or an upgrade.
The only possibility of an upgrade is if Lenovo made your model of laptop with a better card in it.

Laptop video cards are not standardized at all, there is no standardized port socket, size, or any other part of it.
Thus if there was not a better card specifically made for your laptop then no.

I searched for your laptop model with a 660m and I found nothing.

I do have an Nvidia GT 650M, though. Are you saying that if I have this one and the integrated Intel, I will be able to upgrade?

It means you at least have a slot for a dedicated video card.
The only chance you have for an upgrade is if Lenovo made a 660m or 670m card for YOUR specific laptop.
Any other laptop GPU wont bolt into your laptop, wont fit in your video card slot (because there is no standardization on this), and there is a chance your motherboard wont support it anyways.

I see, that's unfortunate. Thanks for the help anyways.
