I know that the short answer is "no" but I seem to remember someone
saying something once about them using some kind of "trick" to get
Donkey Kong to work on the Intellivision II - without modding the
cartridge, etc.. has anyone heard of it being done?

I have a small write-up about it on the IntvGN homepage. I haven't
successfully gotten it to work, the guy who e-mailed me the tip swears it
works. www.intellivision.tk

The mod does work. I did it to my console and great success. The problem is
that it is not 100% perfect. You have to short the contacts several times
for it to work.

That doesn't sound terribly reliable ... what do you mean, "short several
times"?

There are two contacts in the cart port you need to short to each other to
make it work. I'm not a tech head, so what those contacts do/lead to I
have no idea.

I'm just wondering what's so special about shorting it several times.
