yes there are several ways of approaching it but this is prob the easiest http/windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/install-and-use-windows-xp-mode-in-windows-7is the ms recommended approach.

Thanks, Zac. The site you recommended does not explain how to configure Win/7 so that the Win/7 partition is able to be connected to the internet but the VM/XP Mode side is not connected to the internet and is therefore safe.

LarryXP, If I remember correctly, there is an option when you initially setup XP Mode to disable network access. Or once it is setup, open it, and select Tools from the top command bar, then under Networking change all of the Adapters to "Not Connected".
