So hi guys ! I am looking to buy a new budget gaming laptop and it is quite hard to choose between the gt 920M and gt 940M .Both of the laptops have the same specifications but one has a better graphics card which is 940M but it is also 50€ more expensive . So is it really worth the 50€ the upgrade . I am looking forward to play games like Cs:Go and Dota 2 and maybe something little bit heavier like gta 5 or fallout 4.

Specs :
1 Laptop (price 480€)
Gt 940M (2gb)
Core I5 5200U
4GB ram

2 Laptop (price 430€)
Gt 920M (2gb)
Core i5 5200U
4gb ram

There are a few videos on youtube of Fallout 4 being played with both these systems, they aren't run in the same area or at the same resolutions so it isn't a side by side comparison but basically.

840m was running at 768p with mainly on low with a few bits of eye candy on in the 40's and looked fairly playable if ugly.
820m was running at 1280*1024 with everything on minimum and the fps counter was mainly in the 30's with dips into the 20's.

This isn't scientific by any means but I would say that it is worth it, it gives you a better gaming experience for not a huge amount of money. You should check out some of the other videos of the 820m and 840m running games.

It sounds like a reasonable price, obviously there are other factors like the quality of the screen, general standard of build and other parts that might influence that. Personally I use a budget Acer with an SSD I added myself and for light gaming and general tasks I find it works perfectly.
