Is lenovo legion y720 worth?

I have a pc with gtx 720 which is outdated..I was searching for gaming laptops but they were like 2000$.

Now i see lenovo offers a laptop with gtx 1060 and i7 for 1000$.

What is the catch? Should i buy this laptop for gaming? also is there any other with same specs (tx 1060 or better) and price?

From looking at specs i think this laptop is pretty great but this price looks unreal to me like
something is not right.

Now i checked the accer predator hellios 300.. is it better than y720?

what types of games i plan on playing?

why do i need the portability of a laptop? perhaps youre better off with a desktop(better performance/dollar)

and last but not least, what do i need vs what do i want.
