Is my motherhood fried?

Every time I turn on my laptop it goes through windows start up and then goes to a maroon screen which is the color of my background, but with no icons or anything. So I took it in and the place I took it to says my motherboard is fried. Is it though?

Sounds more like a software issue. Can you boot to safe mode?

I would also say software issue with maybe a touch of fried hard drive on the side

I recently got my laptop back it is an ASUS g46vw in case you were wondering. Either way i tried for a long time to boot into safe mode with no luck. So I am just very confused as to what to do now.
