is refurbished safe

I was looking into a Dell inspirion 7559 laptop. After finding out that the "new 2016" one is the same as the old one, my question is: Is it safe to buy the laptop refurbished? If so, is EBay a good source or should I stick with amazon when it comes to refurbished?

If you get it from a good shop (indeed amazon or newegg) its totally safe and you have even warrenty on it! I dont know much about ebay so be carefull from who you buy stuff!

Depends...

I purchased a refurbed Dell Latitude 3540 from eBay back in Jan 2014 for $500 and it was definitely a good deal. A new one from Dell with the same configuration would have cost me just a little over $900 before taxes. The laptop was refurbished by Dell and at the time there was still about 11 month left on the 1 year warranty.

The eBay seller I purchased it from have over 5000 sales transactions and an overall rating of 98% or higher. Therefore, I felt it was reasonably safe to make the purchase.

I have bought a number of refurbished parts as long as the seller is a big seller on ebay and they give you a good deal

seller-refurbished? ha! no. what does that mean? he cleaned the snot off the keys? pfft.

manufacturer-refurbished? sure. but make sure there's at least a 3-month warranty.
