Is that difference worth that money

Hi. As far I was using only PC so I know nothing about laptops. And I have one question.
i5-4210H + gtx960m vs i7-4720HQ + gtx960m. IS there that much of a difference? Or should I go for i7-4720HQ and gtx950m?

Yeah but the same thing is with desktop i5 and i7, i7 is far more powerful but in daily use that difference is minimal. Is it like that in mobile too?

What type of games?
If you get the more powerful processor it can play games easily plus it will take longer for it to slow down in the future.

unless programming needs hyperthreading ie extra cores then i5 should be plenty

Your biggest difference between the two cpus is

i5-4210H is a 2 core 4 thread cpu
i7-4720HQ is a 4 core 8 thread cpu

for Programming, games, watching movies i would go with the i7

It depends on what games, normally the i5 cpu will be enough for most games. But some do require an i7. This will obviously depend on the settings you play the games at.

As for programming an i5 is enough unless you are creating complex programs.

mostly high textures and everything else on medium. It doesnt have to run everything on ultra, med in fhd will be enough(at 45-60fps). But maybe its better to wait for skylake units? I have 1,5 month till I will need it.

As you are running games at med then the i5 is more than enough. I don't think skylake will make that much of a difference in games as most are gpu dependant.
