Great answer. Really helpful. I downloaded the CCleaner. My question is about the TFC. Is there a differnce between TFC by Oldtimer and Temp File Cleaner by Addpcs.com (also vetted by CNet)? Because Im confused as to which to download (speaking to the questions of safety, effectiveness, and reliability)

TFC by Oldtimer and Temp File Cleaner from Addpcs.com are not the same software, but they perform the same function - deletion of temporary files that are otherwise inaccessible to Windows or to other file cleaning software. You may try both programs if neither deletes all the files that you want them to. From what I have read, they are generally safe, especially the latest versions.
