Is there a way to play together if someone has apple and the other has android?

Is there a way to play together if someone has apple and the other has android? Like Modern Combat 4 apple players. How can the apple players play with android player for that game. Is there like an app?

Apple players will have to swallow they pride, and buy Android phone/tablet if they want to play Android-only game. One can get Android tablet for 1/5th of the price of iPad.
