So i understand that the laptop has only one input for mic and headphones on your laptop?
If i understand correctly, you would need one of these which splits the mic input, and the headphone output for use with an all-in-one jack plug; https/www.amazon.co.uk/Headphone-Microphone-Splitter-Converter-Adaptor-x/dp/B01518S836

Hi, no problem! Glad to help.
No, unfortunately if the only jack plug on the laptop is strictly a headphone (output), then your mic will not work.
You would need to use a USB audio interface like this: https/www.amazon.co.uk/Plugable-Headphone-Microphone-Aluminum-Compatibility/dp/B00NMXY2MO/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1498054267&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=usb+headphone+and+microphone+adaptor

But do make sure that both the plugs on the mic and the headphones are 3.5mm.
