Is there any security risk with itunes?

I thought I read this a while back and have only had itunes on my peripheral computers for a couple years. I would like to put it on my big rig that can hold all my music.

Is there any security flaws/malware/bloatware etc that gets in via itunes? Or any drawbacks at all?

For the record, there does seem to be a lot of potential risks, but I know almost nothing about security so have no gauge as to how much to be concerned as a regular windows user. I just had my identity stolen years ago and it left me a bit paranoid.
