I'm planning to buy a laptop for playing games at medium settings at 30-40 FPS.
This is the laptop that im planning to buy as it is under my budget which is $650-$700.

HP Pavilion 15-n210/n215se Notebook PC specs ($680):-
1. Intel Core i5-4200U 1.6 GHz
2. 4 GB RAM (8 GB RAM also an option)
3. NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M 2 GB DDR3
4. Windows 8 64-bit (OS doesn't matter to me)

I will be buying this laptop in the next month and not in States or UK, but in a Middle Eastern country called Oman(do Google it). This is the only laptop that i found in my budget which is $700, below and also available in my region. I know if I put the same money into a gaming rig, I would get better performance. I already have a gaming rig. the only reason I'm buying a laptop is for school and also that me and my friends decide to go to one persons house for LAN parties. My budget is 700$ and I cannot go any further. I will not be buying this but my parents will( I'm 16).

Also if you find a better laptop that is under my budget please do recommend that is well and i will take it into consideration.

Thanks in advance.

Some games are really CPU intensive, depending on the games you're into you might run into some problems on a dual core. The system's configured purposely to sacrifice processing power to lower the TDP to make room for the graphics card heat. Like firo40 said, you'll be fine on most games at your expectations.

However, if you, like me, prefer to be way over the specs as opposed to marginally over, here is another option. This one's a little over budget but it is much better:

Double the 3d-mark vantage score on the GPU and a quad core processor.
I read online about overheating issues, but a friend of mine has it and said that tweaking the fan speeds a bit solved it for him.
Look for deals as they come out quite often. I have seen quite a few on logicbuy

You might want to edit the thread- it really didn't say where you were.
