not for lighter it's for latest and heavy games you should be fine with every game..

If you drop down to the bottom, you can look at specific benchmarks for the games you play.

Only neg (when compared to equivalnt Nvidia 550M) is inthe implimentation of switching between the SB (I5-2410M) IGP and the dedicated GPU when switching between 2D and 3D graphic. AMD software/driver does this rather poorly. The effects depend on usage. Gaming - No effect. None gaming usage, such as email, using the net, offce type programs - decreased battery time.

The 540M is listed about 20 GPUs lower than the 6750M.

That said, Myself I also prefer the 540M (due tobetter switching between IGP and GPU - I'm not a gamer.

I have the Samsung RF711-S01 (I5-2410M w/540M GPU), bought from newegg on sale for $750. Added a 2nd 4 gig Ram Module, swapped out HDD and installed two M4 128 gig SSDs.

Yes, the spec are fine.

I'm not a lover of HP as their reliability is on the lower end, below dell and sony.
For reliabilty, the last I checked the top two were Asus then Toshiba.
I'd probably put Samsung 3rd. Dell and Sony are around 4th/5th.
Dell and HP both make a reliable Bussiness Laptop, it's just their consummer level models that are not the best option in terms of reliability.
Acer is probably in last place.

damn.. i called up the store. they say this model is discontinued.. so im getting a HP 3145tx. similar specs. it costs a bit more.. costs rs4000 more. that is ~ $78

Two factors that you may want to look at.
But first CPU and GPU are fine.
I personaly would not buy.
(1) has one VGA output port - Thats not yesterdays tech - It's last decade.
Why they did not provide a HDMI out, or at least a DVI out is beyound me on a realtively high end CPU/GPU.
(2) This is more individual - 14 in screen size. If you do not have a desktop, the 14 in may be a little on the small size. If it had a HDMI or DVI out you could hook up a larger external monitor (Still can but limited to VGA).

At least it provided USB3 which is great for connecting external HDDs, or the newer USB3 thumbdrives.

Added: Can the DVD drive be replaced by the user. Reason (1) DVD drives seems to be a weak point in reliabilty (Fails more often than the other components) and (2) You may want to upgrade the drive to a Blu-ray Rom/DVD-RW drive later on. I did this to to of my current laptops. Was simple and cost was around $100 USD. Laptop BD drives should be dropping in cost. My last one was $200 in the US, so ordered from Tawain for $100 - They sent it airmail (FREE) and had it in a week.

And another help. i have a hp 1131tx

Intel Core2 Duo Processor T5800
3 GB RAM
Geforce 9200 GPU

The thing is the CPU usage is always >50%. even if i open a browser window it shoots up to 60% and if i have 4+ tabs it is 100%. And also the GPU temp shoots up to 80+ degrees. I gave my laptop for repair 2 or 3 times. The problem keeps starting again. How do i resolve this issue . any ideas? what might be wrong ?
