Hey! Got a question you guys. It's actually very simple. Basically I just bought an HDTV and I plan to use as a TV & computer monitor. What I am wondering is if I can connect the speakers I currently use for my computer (Altec lansing simple/affordable set of 2 speakers and a big black box that goes on the floor) to my TV simultaneously.

The speakers are currently connected through a 1/8 jack from the speakers to the back of the computer. But I noticed that there is an AUX input in one of the speakers.

I'd like to know if I can connect the TV to the AUX input using a (pardon my lack of correct technical terms) a "Y" cable that has the Red and Black RCA audio jacks on one end (to connect from the TV), and a single 1/8 stereo jack on the other (to insert it in speaker).

Can I keep my speakers connect through the AUX cable from the TV and the normal 1/8 stereo jack into the PC?

Will some weird stuff happen when I do that? Could it damage either the speakers/tv/pc???

Thank you for your replies!! :D
