Even if a higher court agrees with the decision in an inevitable appeal, pro-business Congress will promptly pass some bill (similar) to the DMCA to make it trivial for businesses to force an ISP to reveal "the most likely" user of an IP address.

I believe that it was in Germany, that a law was passed, that if you have an unsecured Wi-Fi connection, then YOU are financially responsible for ANY of its misuse by 3rd parts hitch hikers.
