Kenwood VR6070 problem

The buttons on the receiver do not work, however the turn dials do! The remote will operate the receiver except the A/B speaker button or the memory button which is not on the remote. I tried reseting the unit but did not help. Can anyone make a suggestion? Thank you!

Could be a bad connections between the board that has the buttons on it and the main board of the receiver?

I was thinking that, but I figured the dials for the volume, tuning, etc are probably on the same board. I'll know better when I get the chance to open it up!
