Keyboard and touchpad not working

I have a toshiba 17" laptop. My son spilled bubble on the keyboard and the keyboard and touchpad are no longer working. It powers up just fine and if I plug in a keyboard and mouse, I can use it. I want to get this fixed, but am unsure of the repair costs. If I send it to Toshiba, I know they will charge me a lot to fix it. Any suggestions?

Solution
No - keyboard is dead and it cost what it cost.

One suggestion: contact Toshiba directly and ask for price - that's it. Then you decide if you want to pay for the repair job or not. Just remember to ask for total price since you'll probably have to ship it from where you live.
