as the title states, i don't know much about laptops compared to desktops(and i'm still new to that field), so any help or suggestions in picking out a new laptop would be great.
1. What is your budget?
$1100 at most
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
anywhere from 15 to 17"
3. What screen resolution do you want?
1920x1080
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
portable as this will be my travelling computer
5. How much battery life do you need?
5-7 hours
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
yes, though mostly lower end games like minecraft and rocket league, though some more intensive games may be played every once in a while, stuff like the civ series
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
mostly just document work, web browsing and media playing
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
500gb to 1tb

any, don't remember the last time i put a disc into a comp

not too picky, as long as the specific comp has good reviews and the company has good customer service then i'm fine

i am kinda sick of integrated graphics so i would prefer to have a dedicated gpu. also, this will mostly be a secondary computer used for work purposes and to bring to buddies houses to play games as my full tower desktop isn't very portable. thanks in advance.
