If you want to shave off $100, then get the following Acer laptops with a less powerful i5-8250u quad core CPU and nVidia mx150 GPU.

The GTX 1050 is slightly better than the GTX 965m while the mx150 is between a GTX 950m and GTX 960m. The GTX 1050 is probably around 33% more powerful than mx150.

@jaguarskx actually im not looking for a gaming computer as those are quite heavy. I'm just looking for a powerful laptop with 16GB of ram.

Well, the mx150 and GTX 1050 are considered "mid-range" GPUs.

Do you need a GPU for anything in particular? For normal things like watching 4k video integrated graphics is fine for that.

@jaguarskx i need it to install the latest version of Linux for programming. Well better graphic would be nice. I looked into Acer aspire i5 from your suggestion above and see that it was released since 2015.
Isn't better to buy a computer that is one or two years old maybe from 2017?

Both the 7th generation (Kaby Lake) i5-7300HQ and 8th generation (Kaby Lake-R) i5-8250u were released in 2017; you may have been looking at the wrong laptop model. To put in simple terms the 8th gen quad core i5 CPU is basically a refinement of the 7th gen dual core i5 "u" model low power CPUs.

The GTX 1050 Ti and the less powerful mx150 were also released in 2017; they are based on the Pascal architecture.
