can someone used my landline and order charge stuff without me knowing it until I get my phone bill?

Sort of, but not really.

What generally happens is they (EDIT: Scammers, spammers etc.Not targeted at you, just people in general) trick you into calling a toll number.

Possible. More likely is they spoofed the caller ID and just provided your number. To use your landline, physical interaction would be required near your house.

Agreed, they would (which used to happen back in the day) go to your outside box or the Phone Box everyone was on, know what they were doing, and 'tap' your connection to go to their house instead. But with Cell Phone service making it easier to mobile (HEY why is that guy touching the wiring on Fred's House?) and so cheap there is no need for it.

Is your cordless phone analog or DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Technology)?

Analog cordless is easy to hack/eavesdrop on, since they have little to no security features.

Even DECT's encryption, which was thought to be more secure, can be cracked.
