we had a house fire and of course the pcs and monitors got wet. 2 of the laptops i had to scrap out but i did get the memory and ssd drives. i got the data off them and then put them in plastic bags to keep them separate from my other memory and ssd drives. but i had 43other laptops and 4 tablets the tablets and 2 laptops were in a end table drawer and they did not see water but maybe some smoke. they now do not smell of smoke and the tablets and 2 all do cubes powered up find. but one hp laptop powered up but i see moisture in the screen. and one monitor i have for larger viewing has moisture as well.
so i'm wondering if i leave them powered and they get warmed up if by chance the moisture might disappear and they may become usable again. so might anyone have some ideas?
at the worst case is they will just be junk. but it might be worth a try. now i'm using the 24" monitor and i can view it but you can still see the moisture in the background of the screen. so just curious.
