I need to replace the aux input and speakers on a friends laptop. where is a reputable retailer I could buy from. Would the local pc shop have them or not?

Laptop model?
Location? (General, starting with country, state, possibly city)
Is the laptop still under warranty?

The audio input is likely soldered to the motherboard. Simple replacement means replacing the entire board. At a shop this is going to cost a lot of money to get to done.

the laptop is an hp 15-f009wm. wisconsin, USA. No its not under warranty. I know its soldered to the motherboard I plan on de-soldering and soldering it back together. That's why i'm looking for the input. Although if I cant get a replacement input then I will have to get a new motherboard. However the solder route is the preferred route.

I doubt anyone can tell you the exact part necessary with a visual inspection of pictures of the motherboard. If it is surface mount it will be a difficult task.

Places like Newark, Digikey, and Mouser will carry individual parts you can buy.
