Laptop battery calibration

Do i really need to do laptop battery calibration after certain amount of discharge cycles? I use battery care program got from www.batterycare.net and it says so.

Well my Alienware has this built into my PC that after so many hours of being plugged in to the power it goes into battery saver mode where is prolongs the life of your battery. The little battery in the taskbar changes to the just a battery like it does when your just using the battery and it always shows 96% charge until it goes out of the mode.

What a battery calibration will do is improve the accuracy of the forecast runtime. The software monitors the discharge of the battery and can better estimate the runtime remaining.
