Laptop battery life

I was just wondering if their is a way to put a laptop on charge without actually charging the battery. This way I wouldn't damage the built in battery

Take it out.

If you take the battery out you can run off the adapter .... it's not actually "on charge", just running off the 12v adapter instead

They all are. But they are replaceable and you can take them out

But I imagine some bright bean counter somewhere convinced company brass to not make battery replaceable in some model .... my Palm Treo had replaceable batteries and then Apple came along and made life difficult

No you can't buy a separate battery for my laptop I already checked

Is sad that laptop/cell phones now think it's in our best interest to not let us change out a battery.

I think when you purchased new laptop, there battery backup is 7,8 hours minimum.
