Laptop brightness help

I have a problem with my brand new Dell laptop. Even though the brightness is 100% it's still so dim that it's unusable. I've checked power saver mode and adaptive brightness and both are already off. I've also updated some drivers that I was told to update on google. But nothing has helped. I'm hoping someone here can

On some Dell's, the brightness is set in the Bios, so check for settings there. Also, in Control Panel>Power Options>your power plan, make sure that brightness is set to 100% (or whatever you desire) in both "Plugged in" and "on Battery".
