Solved! Laptop can't find wifi

In a hotel room my phone and ipod connect to wifi perfectly but when I try my HP Envy laptop it says no wifi available. As soon as I return home it works just fine.

The WiFi you are referring to could have been at another GHz. Most broadcast at 2.4GHz and 5GHz. However, not all devices can connect to both. I would check that first.

Then, it is also completely possible that the hotel you are/were staying at has a limitation on how many devices it allows you to connect to their WiFi. Yes, that can be done.
