laptop connects to wifi but not ethernet?

my la[top is of windows10 operating system...it only connects to wireless wifi..but not ethernet cables..i need help!!!

Need some details here, are there link lights on the ethernet port? Did you try a different cable or port on the switch or router? Is there another computer you can test with on that connection?
