Laptop damaged from running hot?

I negligently left my razer blade stealth running on my bed for about an hour while I was off doing other things. When I came back, it was dangerously hot. Is it likely that I have inflicted damage to my computer?

If it's working now it should be fine. Ive done the same type of thing with old laptops. Usually it's a pillow under it on my lap.
