I heard that dedicated graphics on a laptop aren't integrated into the laptop sometimes? would it be possible to replace the graphics card of the laptop. Problem is my laptop is G6 1105 with switchable graphics intel HD and ati HD 6470m. Would someone confirm if i can either send to HP for upgrading the card or is it just not possible even though the ati card is dedicated.

No you can't upgrade it.
There are few (gaming) laptops that allow some GPU upgrades

Generally no for the vast number of laptops.

Only certain gaming laptops which costs over $1500+ may give you the option to upgrade. That upgrade will not be cheap either. Generally about 2x the price of a desktop graphics card... if you can find one.

Hi :)

My laptop repair company recently had to replace a graphics card in a big dell lappy....the card cost £560+VAT (20%)....

All the best Brett :)

So is that 2x the price than it's desktop equivalent or more?

Hi :)

Yes 🙁

The problem is that these top end lappies cost a fortune new...(most around £2000 +) and there is no competition and the manufacturers know that...so they have you by the proverbials 🙁

All the best Brett :)
