laptop doesn't start

I have dell n5010 machine,I remember last time I used my machine...and couple of days later I tried to use it but I got error saying xe rom error bla bla..I goodled the proble code,they sayed may ir hdd was damaged,i checked in bios there it was showing hdd, then I tried to boot with 8.1 but in installation process the place where we need to specify drive-there I couldn't find any drive letter, what I found is "no partion available of storage,is my hard disk damaged or any other issue is there...last time I used my laptop correctly and now I got error...is any solutions with u..help me out with this..
