Solved! Laptop Doesn't Work

So I have a Dell laptop that has been running well for a really long time, and as I was typing, I realized the keys weren't working. So I looked it up, and it told me to reboot my laptop. Well, the power button won't work, and the computer won't turn off, so I pressed shut down in the options. All that did was turn off the screen, but the rest stayed on. I can't turn it off and the keys still won't work, please help!

You may well have to either wait until it runs out of battery power (make sure not connected to charger cord as well) or pull the battery out (and disconnect the charger cord) then put the battery back in to get it to turn off.

Yes, I know on many laptops the battery is a pain to get to, but those would be the only options to your issue.

NOTE: If that device is still under warranty, do not open it up without checking with the manufacturer first.

^^What he said, turn it off forcefully, if that doesn't fix it, something really is broken.
