Laptop dvd space

Please my DVD/CD-RW drive . cannot read any cd or dvd plate. I went to the device manager and got a message that the drive is working properly, yet when I insert any disk, it cannot play. I would appreciate a help from anyone please. ALSO NO SOUND

Regarding the sound issue, here are some troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by uninstalling/reinstalling the sound card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Sound card driver.
- Once uninstalled, either download the driver from the manufacturer site or just reboot your laptop and it should reinstall the driver automatically.
- Once done, do test the sound of your laptop again and see if it will work or not.
