Laptop external Graphics card

Hello guys i hope that i can be helped because i am having a prroblem.The problem is that my friend is giving me a Graphic card i want to run it on my laptop is their any way.

The GPU his giving you is a laptop GPU? Does your laptop has the proper space/slots to hold it?
If both answers are yes, then you probably can, it might be difficult to do so but with care you might do it just fine.

If any of them are no, unfortunately that's a no for your answer as well. Desktop GPUs and Laptop GPUs are different from each other, and therefore incompatible.

I thinks his gpu is Nvidia gtx 560 or maybe better Not sure about it.But my laptop specs are intel core i3 4gb ram 2.40Ghz intel hd 3000.How can i install gpu With some converter or anything else

Depends on your laptop. Some manufacturer have pcie bridges (external video card cases) some are working with special connectors and some with thunderbolt connections.

I believe it won't be possible, not without a lot of trouble and adaptors, which i'm not familiar with, sorry.
GTX 560 is for desktops, if it were the GTX 560M then we would have a easy possibility there.

Safest bet, if you wanna use the GPU your friend gave you is to get a Desktop.

Yes. A couple companies make thunderbolt egpus if you have that connection available. If you do not I have heard of some people making some diy egpu setups using an internal mpcie port (such as the one a wifi card would be plugged into) and an external power supply.

Going either of these ways, you still have to worry about the specs of the laptop you are hooking it up to. It won't really matter how good of a card your friend gave you if it is bottle necked by a piece of your laptop's hardware.

Personally I would't bother it would be better to build a cheap desktop or purchase a PC with gpu you can get one with a 960m (which isn't bad) for under $700 us nowadays.
