Around 5-600 Dollars.

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

14 to 16 inches.

3. What screen resolution do you want?

a lower res is fine but a higher one would be nice

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

I have a desktop for school/gaming, Id really like the laptop to be pretty light.

5. How much battery life do you need?

3-4 hours is fine.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

Maybe wow/sc2 on low with decent frames, but thats it.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing,watching movies, Etc.)

dvds and streaming netflix mostly.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?

I have everything on a external drive for my bulk of movies, anything below 500 is cool.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?

next 2-3 years.

just a dvd drive

I dont know a whole ton on laptops, but ive heard a lot of people complaining about acer and dell.

Hey thanks for the responses. So I checked out the ASUS on newegg, but I cant seem to find any additional infomation on it(reviews/retail stores with it). Has anyone owned this model or a similar model?

I didn't find any reviews either. It's a fairly new model. And you don't see as many reviews on the low end anyway.
That Intel Pentium P6100 dual core CPU is more modern that it's name seems. It's only been out a few months and it's based on Arrandale part of the Core i3/i5 family.
We like the Asus brand as being on the whole, more reliable in build and quality that a lot of the other brands.

It also comes with a 1 year ASUS Accidental Damage Warranty - Drops, Fire, Spill, Surge.
That's pretty unusual and sets this apart from Dell, HP, Lenovo etc.
